A Story Within a Story

For those who may not be fully aware of Wen’s background before reaching this National iAward level, it’s worth summarising some of his more recent milestones.

Wen subscribed to the website of the Better Healthcare Foundation when it was launched last October 2018.  He provided a website story on his professional journey through his first 30-years of work. Wen achieved Certification as a Medical Physicist specialising in Radiation Oncology, worked in hospitals, tutored staff and students and then became an inventor and entrepreneur:

My 30-year Professional Journey

Wen wanted to pass on his career experience as encouragement for other young colleagues in their future career.

Wen has gone on to gain Government assistance and has established a ‘start-up’ small business. He has also secured six global patents for parts of his design work and has attracted interest from a German company to further develop his prototype.

Other Awards and Achievements

Wen’s previous awards are:

  • The ACPSEM Dave Robinson Innovation Prize and Award, 2016

Wen designed an early version of the ChestPhan-4D quality assurance device to be awarded this prize.

  • The Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) Award, May 2019

Wen won three of the ten AIIA Victorian Branch awards (the best achievement in AIIA’s 25-year history) and qualified for the National final in August. The three Victorian Award categories were:
