Corona Virus-19

Australia and New Zealand have excellent hospitals, good cooperation from the public and a huge benefit being island states with good immigration control. This has resulted in low infection rates that are the envy of the world. But most other countries are not as fortunate and the personal suffering and economic fallout is enormous.

The BHT Foundation’s primary mission is to improve people’s quality of life by increasing their access to safe and appropriate medical technology. One of the main activities has been sending APSIG volunteers to carry out training in Asia-Pacific hospitals. But clearly these trips are suspended and not expected to resume for quite a while.

However, the Better Healthcare Technology Foundation is uniquely placed to help in other ways. For example, by providing useful resources and remote training via its website and building on its established links to set up mentoring and other support systems. APSIG is currently formulating a range of alternative aid initiatives and would welcome your ideas and offers of help. This could be in the form of providing on-line training material or offering direct support to a particular hospital or individual.

Please contact apsig@acpsem.org.au with your suggestions or useful resources you may wish to contribute.

Spread the word. Contribute your thoughts and articles so that the BHT Foundation,

www.betterhealthcaretechnology.org

can continue to grow as an international communication lifeblood that feeds information back to the community, health professionals and the world-wide followers we serve.
