The Foundation is delighted to report that Dr Howell Round has just received the highly prestigious award of Fellow, the International Organisation of Medical Physics (IOMP).
As well as his association with IOMP, Howell is a member of the Better Healthcare Technology Foundation Board, was ACPSEM President (2006-7) and served as Secretary General of both the Asia-Oceania Federation of Organisations for Medical Physics and the International Union of Physical and Engineering Sciences in Medicine.
Having received the Award, Howell sent a message around to all his Facebook friends and said:
“I should have been at the International Conference on Medical Physics in Santiago, Chile, today receiving a Fellowship of the International Organization for Medical Physics, but international travel is off the agenda for a while. IOMP represents 25,000 medical physicists but only 5 or 6 get awarded fellowships each year. A nice recognition at the end of my career.”
