Our article for this issue is about another leader from Western Australia. John Leo Black was appointed to establish a brand new nuclear medicine department at the Perth Medical centre, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, in 1971.
John joined Dr Michael Quinlan. It was the second (after Royal Perth Hospital) nuclear medicine service in Western Australia. Dr Quinlan completed his MD and was the first nuclear medicine physician practising in that State.
